The result shows that there are six types of figurative language in 19 data, including 4 similes, 1 metaphors, 10 hyperbole, 2 paradox, 1 irony, and 1 personification. This study found 19 meanings in this album including 18 connotative meanings, and 1 affective meanings, that found in song lyrics from album Selena Gomez entitled Rare. This study indicates that the figurative language in the songs conveyed the listeners and readers to understand the message and the meaning by understanding the songs more deeply.
