THE CORRELATION BETWEEN READING HABITS AND READING COMPREHENSION OF THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMK WERDHI SILA KUMARA SILAKARANG IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/2021

This study aims to determine the relationship between reading habits and reading comprehension of class X students at SMK Werdhi Sila Kumara. The subjects of this study were 35 students of class X TB for the academic year 2020/2021, consisting of 13 women and 22 men. The researcher gave a questionnaire to measure students’ reading habits and then gave a test in the form of a cloze test to check students’ understanding. Because the research was conducted during a pandemic to avoid the spread of Covid-19, researchers used the Google Form platform to distribute questionnaires and also tests. The results of the questionnaire and tests were tested using the SPSS 17.0 program. The design used is an ex post facto research design. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between reading habits and students’ reading comprehension with a correlation value of 68.9% and a significance of 0.000 <0.05
