HUBUNGAN PANJANG BIBIR ATAS DENGAN TIPE SENYUM PADA SUKU BALI DI FKG UNIVERSITAS MAHASARASWATI DENPASAR

Abstrak

Estetika adalah keindahan dan daya tarik guna untuk meningkatkan harga diri pasien, dan membuat pasien merasa puas terhadap bagian penting dari tubuh mereka. Penilaian estetika tidak hanya pada wajah dan tubuh, tetapi juga senyum yang estetik. Senyum adalah bentuk dari ekspresi dan penampilan wajah. Terdapat banyak pembagian tipe senyum berdasarkan kategori tertentu. Beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi tipe senyum agar terlihat indah salah satunya adalah panjang bibir atas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara panjang bibir atas dengan tipe senyum pada suku Bali di FKG Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional dengan desain cross sectional menggunakan sampel sebanyak 52 subjek suku Bali yang berusia 19-24 tahun di FKG Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini diambil dengan Teknik simple random sampling berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengukuran langsung pada sampel menggunakan sliding caliper untuk mengukur panjang bibir atas serta dilakukan pengamatan langsung untuk mengetahui tipe senyum. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara panjang bibir atas dengan tipe senyum pada suku Bali di FKG Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar dengan nilai 0,024 (p<0.05) Adanya hubungan panjang bibir atas dengan tipe senyum menunjukkan bahwa semakin rendah ukuran panjang bibir atas maka semakin tinggi tipe senyum.

Abstract

Aesthetics is beauty and attractiveness to increase the patient's self-esteem, and make the patient feel satisfied with the important parts of their body. Aesthetic assessment is not only on the face and body but also on the aesthetic smile. A smile is a form of facial expression and appearance. There are many types of smile divisions based on certain categories. Several factors affect the type of smile to look beautiful, one of which is the length of the upper lip. This research aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between the length of the upper lip and the type of smile in Balinese at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahasaraswati University, Denpasar. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design using a sample of 52 Balinese subjects aged 19-24 years at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar. The sample used in this study was taken by a simple random sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data was collected by direct measurement of the sample using a sliding caliper to measure the length of the upper lip and direct observation to determine the type of smile. The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between the length of the upper lip and the type of smile in the Bali’s tribe group at FKG Mahasaraswati Denpasar University with a value of 0.024 (p<0.005) The relationship between the length of the upper lip and the type of smile indicates that the lower the length of the upper lip, the higher the type of smile.
