Abstract

This study was conducted in order (1) to find out the types of affixes found in ―White Fang in Jack London‖ Novel, and (2) to describe the morphological process of inflectional and derivational affixes found in White Fang in Jack London Novel. The data were taken from a novel White Fang in Jack London Novel. It focused on the analysis inflectional and derivational affixes especially prefix and suffix. Descriptive qualitative method was used in order to make it easier in analyzing the data. Were collected through observation method and used library research as the technique of data collection. The word which used inflectional and derivational affixes listed by reading all the chapter of the data source. After the data were collected the researcher classified based on their type of inflectional and derivational affixes. The researcher used two theories to analyses the data source. The first theory from Lieber (2009) in the book entitled Introducing Morphology was used to analyses the types of inflectional and derivational affixes and supported by theory from Fromkin, Et.al (2010 as the second theory in book entitled An Introduction to Language Ninth Edition to draw the morphological process used tree diagram. The final result show that 211 data which consist of 122 (100%) data of inflectional affixes and 89 (100%) data of derivational affixes. There were 8 types inflectional affixes which are third person, past tense, progressive, past participle, plural, possessive, comparative, and superlative and 18 types of derivational affixes which are un-, im-, -ous, - less, -full, -able, dis-, -ance, -ation, -er, -ment, -ion, -ness, -ity, -ing, un-, dis-, -ly were found in White Fang Novel By Jack London.
