Abstract
Onomatopoeia is naming objects or action based on the imitation of sounds associated with the object or actions. There are two problems to be solved in this study, namely; (1) What are the types of onomatopoeia words found in Naruto manga; (2) What is the meaning of onomatopoeia words found in the Naruto manga. This study used three theories to solve the problems, the first one is a theory proposed by Elizabeth (2013) to identify types of onomatopoeia, second theory is from Thomas (1995) used to analyze the meaning, and the last is the theory from Halliday and Hasan (1989) used to analyze the context of the situation found in Naruto Comic. The data were collected through library research by reading the comic, identifying the onomatopoeic words, note-taking the onomatopoeic words, and this research used descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data descriptively and qualitatively to support the explanation by presenting the percentage of the data in a table to show which one is the most present data found in Naruto. The result of this study shows the types of onomatopoeic. From 37 data found in the comic by Masashi Kishimoto, the types of Fighting is most commonly occurs with 15 data.
