Abstract
This study aims at answering the research problems, which are: (1) to investigate the type of code-switching used by Natasha Wilona and the guests star utterances (2) to analyze the social factors influencing code-switching by Natasha Wilona and the guests star utterances. This study concerned with code-switching Indonesian-English language in Natasha Wilona and the guests star utterances in her podcast on Youtube. The qualitative method is used in this study for analyzing the collected data from the Podcast. The method is applied in order to give a clear description on the data according to theory proposed by Wardaugh (2015) and theory proposed by Janet Holmes (2013). The result of this study shows that all types and the social factor influencing of code-switching were found. First, three types of codeswitching are metaphorical switching and situational switching. In addition, four social factors influencing of code-switching are the topic, the participants, the setting, and the function. Based on the data, type of code-switching which is metaphorical switching is the most often used in Natasha Wilona and guests star utterances which is 30 data (52,61%), because Natasha Wilona and guests star feel more comfortable when using words, clauses and phrases in one sentence to convey motivational messages. From the result of the social factor influencing code-switching obtained in the Natasha Wilona and guests star utterances, the function is dominant which is 33 data (44%). Because Natasha Wilona and the guest appear more at ease when employing words, clauses, and phrases in a single sentence to deliver motivational messages
