Abstract
The ability to write accurate English is a reflection of non-verbal language communication skills. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to determine whether the Tell-Show Strategy combined with Pictures can enhance the writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 UBUD in the academic year 2023/2024. This research employed a classroom action research approach with a planning, action, observation, and reflection design. The research subjects consisted of 34 eighth-grade students from SMPN 2 Ubud, comprising 17 female students and 17 male students. The research instruments used to collect data included writing tests and questionnaires. The results of this research indicate an improvement in the English writing skills of students after the teacher implemented the Tell-Show Strategy combined with pictures. This can be observed from the average pretest score of only 46.14. However, the post-test 1 score increased to 71.35, and the average post-test 2 score became 81.76. Meanwhile, the questionnaire results indicate positive student responses to the implementation of this strategy. These findings suggest that the Tell-Show Strategy can improve students' English writing skills and enhance their motivation. The research recommends the importance of using pictures in implementing the Tell-Show Strategy for improving students' English writing abilities.
