Abstract
The objective of this study was to find out the significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the seventh-grade student of SMPN 5 Mengwi in academic year 2021/2022. The design was correlation research, the writer used two instrument which were reading test of reading skill and vocabulary test for vocabulary mastery. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 25 that consist of Normality test, Homogeneity test, Pearson Product Moment and T-Testing. The hypothesis was significantly accepted. According to the result of Pearson Product Moment, it was found that was 0.948. It shows that there is significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 5 Mengwi in academic year 2021/2022. It lies between 0.800-1.000 which is in sufficient level. The result that there is a significant relationship between the student’s vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension ability of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 5 Mengwi in academic year 2021/022 have a high correlation.
