The Correlation Between Reading Habit and Reading Comprehension of The Eighth-Grade Students of SMPN 14 Denpasar in The Academic Year 2023/2024

The study aims at figuring out the correlation between students reading habit and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 14 Denpasar. The present study used the ex post facto research design, which the researcher only collecting the data from the sample. The samples of the research consisted 84 students which were chosen used cluster sampling technique. The data were collected through administering the research instrument which were in the form of questionnaire and short answer tasks. The obtained data were statically analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and T-Test. The results of the data analysis clearly revealed the hypothesis was accepted. In other words, the research confirmed that there is significant correlation between reading habit and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 14 Denpasar in academic year 2023/2024.
