THE ANALYSIS OF MORAL VALUE FOUND IN THE DIALOGUE OF THE CHARACTER IN IT MOVIE (2017)

The purpose of this research is to find and classify the moral values in the
movie IT Movie (2017). This Horror/Thriller genre movie tells story of the gang
called "The Losers Club" must deal with a clown (Pennywise) who has the power
to transform himself into what we fear most. This descriptive qualitative research
is intended to analyse the types of moral value in the IT Movie (2017) and how the
characters reflect this moral value through the dialogue. The data collection
techniques in this study were library and observation by watching the IT Movie
(2017) and noting all dialogues containing the moral value and how the characters
reflected this moral value through the dialogue. The analysis technique in this study
uses Linda and Eyre's (1995) source theory in their book entitled Teaching Your
Children Value. The results of this study show there are two types of moral values
in IT Movie (2017), namely, values of being which consist of six data and values
of giving which consist of seven data. The highest occurrence of moral values is
bravery, with frequency five times (38,46 %). Loyalty and trustworthy with
frequency three times (23,08%). Sensitive and unselfishness with frequency two
times (15,38%). Self-reliance and Potential (7,70%), Love and Affection (7,69%),
Kindness and Friendliness (6,69%) with frequency one times. There were five
characters played the moral values in IT movie (2017), They were Beverly, Bill,
Eddie, Richie and Stanley.
