News reporting on conflict situations mainly manipulates discursive strategies in portraying people, actions, and events either negatively or positively based on prejudiced ideologies. This thesis examines salient discursive strategies deployed by news articles, especially from tempo.co article to represent the values in their reports on the Russian tourist issue in Bali. The data instances of discourse strategies drawn from four news articles published between February and March 2023. By integrating insight from Wodak & Meyer (2001), findings reveal that article reports create positive values in-group and negative out-group values through five discursive strategies which include Referential/nomination, predication, argumentation, perspectivation, and intensification. The strategies embody values prejudices of positive self and negative other representations which are rife in the articles
