ANALYSIS OF THE MORAL VALUES OF THE CHARACTERS SHOWN IN “CLICK” MOVIE

This research aims to find the moral message and the way of conveying the moral used in the movie “Click” (2006) by Frank Coraci. This movie talks about a man who is always occupied with his job and never has free time for the family. The study concentrates on the manner of presenting moral values by the characters, through the dialogue and the various kinds of moral values presented in the movie Click (2006). In this study, the descriptive qualitative method was used to analyze the data by observation by watching a Click movie. This method was applied in order to give a clear description of the data based on the theory applied by Linda and Eyre (1997) for the types of moral values and Halliday and Hassan (1995) for the types of dialogue. The finding of this research shows that all the types of moral values found: Values of being: Honesty, Bravery, Self- Discipline and moderation, Hard work, Fidelity and Chasity, and the values of giving: Loyalty and Trustworthy, respect, love and affection, sensitivity and unselfishness, kindness and friendliness, justice and mercy, self-reflection. The types of dialogue as proposed by Hassan and Halliday in this study found Field of discourse and Tenor of discourse.
