AN ANALYSIS OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGES FOUND IN THE NOVEL "REMEMBER ME" BY SOPHIE KINSELLA

This study is aimed at analyzing figurative language in novel entitled "Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella". The result of this analysis have assumed 2 researches questions 1. What are the types of figurative language found in novel entitled "Remember Me? 2. What are the meanings of figurative language found in the novel entitled "Remember Me? This study used descriptive qualitative to analyze the data. The results of this analysis demonstrate that are found The total of the data in this study were 37 data of figurative languages. Based on the table, there were found 15 types of hyperboles (41%), 10 types of similes (27%), 4 types of personifications (11%), and 4 types of irony (11%), 2 types of metaphors (5%), and 2 types of synecdoche (5%). Based on the result the types of figurative languages that dominantly used in this novel are hyperbole and simile. found in this novel There were found seven types of meaning: conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, collocative meaning, social meaning, affective meaning, reflective meaning and thematic meaning. There researches focuses analyzing data sources with two type of meaning. There are conceptual meaning and connotative meaning.
