THE CHARACTERIZATION COMPARISON OF TWO MAIN CHARACTERS IN “CRUELLA” 2021 MOVIE

This study mainly aimed to find out the comparison of characterization of two main characters found in the Cruella 2021 movie. The discussion focused on two main characters namely Estella Cruella and Baroness. The data source was a movie entitled Cruella 2021. The data were collected by watching movies, reading the script, and note taking, and analyzed by qualitative method. The theories adopted in this scientific study were the theory of literature proposed by Kenney (1966) that have two types of character that were simple flat character and complex round character. The theory proposed by Wellek and Warren (1956) has three dimension of characterization that were physiological dimension, sociological dimension, and psychological dimension. The result of this study shows the similarities and differences of two main characters, two types of characters: simple flat character and complex round character. There were three dimensions of characterization of the main character's personality that were analyzed, which were physiological, sociological, as well as psychological.
