THE ANALYSIS OF CONFLICT OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE MOVIE “LILO AND STITCH 2: STITCH HAS A GLITCH”

Conflict refers to a dramatic event that focuses on the battle of two-balanced powers and implies action and retaliation. This study focused on two research problems namely, types of conflict and the conflict management that found in the movie entitled Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch. This study was conducted through descriptive qualitative method. In collecting the data, the library research was applied to this study. Afterwards, the collected data were analyzed by using two theories namely, Genneby et al. (2012) about types of conflict and Thomas and Killman (2008) about conflict management. Based on the results of this study, there were 9 data of types of conflict which covered 6 data of intrapersonal conflict (67%) and 3 data of interpersonal conflict (33%). Moreover, the most dominant conflict in this movie was intrapersonal conflict since the main characters, Lilo Pelekai and Stitch often showed clash of feelings on themselves when they faced the problem. On the other hand, there were also 9 data in total that can be divided into five types of conflict management namely, 2 data of competing (22%), 2 data of collaborating (22%), 1 data of compromising (11%), 3 data of avoiding (33%), and 1 data of accommodating (11%).
