Efektifitas Perasan Daun Pandan Wangi (Pandanus Amaryllifolius Roxb.) Dalam Menghambat Candida Albicans

Background : oral thrush is a disease in children caused due to oral hygiene in the oral cavity child unattended, causing the normal flora evolved into pathogens. The main microorganisms cause of oral thrush is Candida albicans. Fragrant pandan leaves is a plant that contains the active substance as anticandida are flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and phenols. Candida albicans is an effective cell to damage cell membrane. Purpose : The purpose of this study is the effectiveness of fragrant pandan leaf filtrate in inhibiting Candida albicans. Methods : The methods is an experimental design with posttest only – control design. This test uses 24 samples with 6 treatments and four repetitions. Treatments are filtrate of fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) with a concentration of 12.5%, 25%, 50% and 100%, suspense Candida albicans as a positive control, as well as 0.1% ketoconazole as a negative control. Results : The results Candida albicans inoculation on media SDA (Sabouraud Dextrosa Agar) 12.5% concentration of 112.75 CFU / mL, a concentration of 25% amounting to 111.5 CFU / mL, a concentration of 50% amounting to 82.75 CFU / mL, and the concentration of 100 % amounted to 75.25 CFU / mL. Conclusion : The conclusion is all concentrations can inhibit Candida albicans, but the most effective is the concentration of 100%.
