THE CORRELATION BETWEEN EXTROVERT AND INTROVERT TOWARD SPEAKING SKILL OF THE EIGHTHGRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 1 KEDIRI IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023

This thesis is aimed to figure out the correlation between extrovert and introvert toward speaking skill of the eighth-grade students in SMPN 1 Kediri in academic year 2022/2023. The design of this study was ex post facto research correlational study. The population of this study was the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Kediri. The sample of this study was 62 students which were taken with cluster sampling method. Furthermore, the questionnaire and speaking test were used as the research instrument. The research instruments were made in order to collect the required data. Then, the data were analyzed by using SPSS 25 version. There were two steps to analyze the data, namely pre-requisite analysis and hypothesis testing. The hypothesis testing was conducted by applying Pearson Product Moment Correlation and T-test. Based on the finding in Pearson Product Moment it got the result 0.403 for (Extrovert - Speaking Skill) and it got the result 0.401 for (Introvert - Speaking Skill). It shows that there is a significant correlation between extrovert-introvert and speaking skill of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Kediri in academic year 2022/2023.
