THE CORRELATION BETWEEN READING HABIT AND READING COMPEREHENSION OF THE EIGHT GRADE STUDENTS AT SMP WISATA SANUR IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022

The research aims at finding out the correlation the correlation between reading habit and reading comperehension of the eight grade students at SMP Wisata Sanur in academic year 2021/2022. The population of this research consist 60 students from the eight-grade students of SMP Wisata Sanur in academic year 2021/2022. The samples of this study are 60 students which were taken by cluster random sampling technique. The design of this study was correlational research. In collecting the data of this research, the writer used two instruments which were reading habit questionnaire consisted of 30 items and reading comprehension test. The data was analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation in IBM SPSS Statistics 25. According to the result of the analysis and statistical calculation, it is found that r was 0.605. It shows that there is significant correlation between reading habit and reading comperehension of the eight grade students at SMP Wisata Sanur in academic year 2021/2022. In conclusion, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. .
