Siswa seringkali melakukan kesalahan dalam memecahkan masalah matematika, terlebih masalah tipe HOTS. Kesalahan yang terjadi belum banyak meninjau dari gaya kognitif siswa. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui jenis dan penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah realistik tipe HOTS ditinjau dari gaya kognitif FD dan FI. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif yang mengambil subjek penelitian di SMP Widiatmika dan SMPN 12 Denpasar. Jumlah subjek sebelum wawancara adalah 59 siswa, dan sebanyak 6 siswa diambil mewakili 6 kategori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 59 subjek sebanyak 18,64% memiliki gaya kognitif field dependent dan 81,36% dengan gaya kognitif field independent. Siswa yang masuk dalam kelompok tinggi sebanyak 22,03%, kelompok sedang 18.64% dan kelompok rendah 59,33%. Jika ditinjau dari banyaknya kesalahan yang dibuat, siswa yang tidak melakukan kesalahan sebanyak 16,95%, siswa yang melakukan sedikit kesalahan 11,86%, siswa yang melakukan cukup banyak kesalahan 23,73%, dan siswa yang melakukan banyak kesalahan 47,46%. Jenis kesalahan yang banak terjadi pada siswa FD adalah memahami masalah, dan pada siswa FD pada tahap memeriksa kembali. Penyebab kesalahan yang terjadi pada siswa FD adalah pemahaman dan penalaran yang tidak lengkap, serta kurang teliti dalam mengerjakan soal-soal yang diberikan. Penyebab kesalahan FI adalah karena terburu-buru dan tidak detail dalam menuliskan jawaban.
Abstract
Students often make mistakes in solving math problems, especially HOTS-type problems. Errors that occur have not been widely reviewed from the cognitive style of students. The research objective was to determine the types and causes of student errors in solving HOTS-type realistic problems in terms of FD and FI cognitive styles. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, taking research subjects at SMP Widiatmika and SMPN 12 Denpasar. The number of subjects before the interview was 59 students, and as many as 6 students were taken to represent 6 categories. The results showed that out of 59 subjects, 18.64% had a field-dependent cognitive style and 81.36% had a field-independent cognitive style. Students who were included in the high group were 22.03%, the medium group was 18.64% and the low group was 59.33%. When viewed from the number of mistakes made, students who did not make mistakes were 16.95%, students who made few mistakes were 11.86%, students who made quite a lot of mistakes were 23.73%, and students who made many mistakes were 47.46% . The type of error that occurs most frequently in FD students is understanding the problem, and in FD students at the re-examining stage. The causes of errors that occur in FD students are incomplete understanding and reasoning, and inaccuracy in working on the questions given. The cause of the FI error is due to rush and not detailed in writing answers.
