Abstract
This study focused on the analysis of Illocutionary act in Encanto movie. This research aims at (1) finding out the types of illocutionary acts depicted in Encanto Movie and (2) identify the meaning of illocutionary act found in Encanto Movie. It is the Disney Animated Canon’s 60 the animated film which are tell the story of the importance of keeping a family together that full of magical adventures and wonders. This study used observation method to collect the data the types and the context of situation of illocutionary acts. The data were analyzed qualitatively using the theory proposed by Yule (1996) the theory proposed by Halliday & Hassan (1985). The result of this study shows the types of illocutionary acts. There are five types of illocutionary acts those are declaration, commissive, expressive, directives, and representatives. This study found 48 data, consists of 20 data or (41 %) of directive, 9 data or (19 %) of commissive, 3 data or (7 %) of representatives, and 16 data or (33 %) of expressive. In this study the shows the dominant type is directive.
