Abstract
Writing is one of the language skills that should be learned by the students beside other language skills. Its purpose is to communicate the language in written form. Regarding the importance of writing, in fact, writing skill becomes one of the difficult skills to be learned. The preliminary observation which was conducted to the seventh-grade students of SMPN 2 Kuta in academic year 2019/2020 showed that their writing skill needed to be improved by applying an interesting and appropriate teaching technique, Simultaneous Roundtable Combined with Picture. The present study was conducted in two cycles. The data were gathered by administering pre-test and post-test. The results of the post-tests in each cycle obviously showed that there were significant improvements concerning the subjects gave positive responses toward the implementation of Simultaneous Roundtable Combined with Picture in improving their writing skill. In conclusion, the present study classroom action research proved that writing skill of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 2 Kuta in academic year 2019/2020 can be improved through Simultaneous Roundtable Combined with Picture.
