ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA BERDASARKAN PROSEDUR NEWMAN DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL TIPE PEMECAHAN MASALAH DITINJAU DARI GAYA KOGNITIF FI DAN FD

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the types of errors and the causes of errors made by students in solving type problems. Solving the material problem of Linear Inequality of Two Variables based on Newman's procedure in terms of the cognitive style of class X students of SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar. The method of this research is qualitative. The data was collected utilizing problem solving tests, GEFT, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were students of class X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar which were then grouped based on cognitive styles, namely Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) students and the number of errors in each cognitive style in answering Problem Solving questions categorized into 3, namely error is quite complex, complex, and very complex. Students with FD cognitive style have more errors than students with FI cognitive style. The causes of errors in FI subjects are not calm in working on problems, rush to solve quickly, do not know the steps that must be taken to solve problems, are not careful in arithmetic operations, lack of time in working on questions. completion process, and do not check back to the written answer. The causes of FD student errors are incomplete in reading the questions, in a hurry to finish quickly, not knowing what is known in the questions implicitly, not being able to retell the information in the questions, not knowing the steps to take to solve the questions, not being thorough. in arithmetic operations, lack of time in the completion process, and not re-checking the final answer that has been written down.

ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan dan penyebab kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal tipe Pemecahan masalah materi Pertidaksamaan Linear Dua Variabel berdasarkan prosedur Newman yang ditinjau dari gaya kognitif siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar. Metode dari penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan datanya dilakukan dengan tes soal pemecahan masalah, GEFT, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar yang kemudian dikelompokkan berdasarkan gaya kognitif yaitu siswa Field Independent (FI) dan Field Dependent (FD) serta jumlah kesalahan di masing-masing gaya kognitif dalam menjawab soal Pemecahan Masalah dikategorikan menjadi 3 yaitu kesalahan cukup kompleks, kompleks, dan sangat kompleks. Kesalahan siswa dengan gaya kognitif FD lebih banyak daripada siswa gaya kognitif FI. Penyebab kesalahan Penyebab kesalahan pada subjek FI yaitu kurang tenang dalam mengerjakan soal, tergesa-gesa agar cepat selesai, kurang mengetahui langkah-langkah yang harus dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan soal, kurang teliti dalam operasi hitung, kekurangan waktu dalam proses penyelesaian, dan tidak ada melakukan pengecekan kembali terhadap jawaban yang dituliskan. Penyebab kesalahan siswa FD yaitu kurang lengkap dalam membaca soal, tergesa-gesa agar cepat selesai, tidak mengetahui yang diketahui dalam soal secara implisit, kurang dapat menceritakan kembali isi informasi dalam soal, tidak mengetahui langkah-langkah yang harus dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan soal, kurang teliti dalam operasi hitung, kekurangan waktu dalam proses penyelesaian, dan tidak melakukan pengecekan ulang terhadap jawaban akhir yang telah dituliskan.
