PERKIRAAN USIA MELALUI GIGI MENGGUNAKAN METODE KVAAL PADA USIA 21 SAMPAI DENGAN 22 TAHUN

Forensic dentistry has an important role in the identification of bodies. Through this identification can be obtained information such as gender, age, race and other personal things. Teeth can be the key in the investigation because it has a durable nature, unique. Kvaal method is one method used to estimate the age through radiographs for adult phase that makes pulp-teeth ratio as a predictor. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of the Kvaal method at the age of 21-22 years. Methods: In this study Kvaal method was tested on panoramic radiographs of 30 samples of adult patients who come to the Dental Hospital Faculty of Dentistry Mahasaraswati Denpasar University with an age range 21-22 years. The study was observational, cross-sectional. Chronological age and age estimation of the mean difference was tested using paired t-test. Results: The test result showed a significant difference between the mean chronological age and age according to the method Kvaal (P 0.05 means that starting this h0. This caused allegedly by several factors such as measurement techniques, radiographic techniques and race / population.
