Abstract

The act of extracting teeth and incision in dentistryis an action that is often carried out and causes injuries and damage to oral tissue. One of the natural ingredients used for the treatment and acceleration of wound healing is jengkol fruit peel. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of giving jengkol fruit peel extract gel applied to incision wound on the back skin area of wistar rats, in various concentrations to the number of fibroblast cells. Material and method: The study used a post test only control group design and was carried out on 24 wistar rats. Rats were divided into 4 groups and each group was given pure CMC-Na. Jengkol fruit peel extract gel 5%,10% and 15%, topically applied to the skin area of the rat’s back for 7 days then counted the number of fibroblast cells. The data obtained were analyzed using the One Way Anova test and Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. Result: The results showed that the average number of fibroblasts in the administration of jengkol fruit peel extract 15% with 101.40 cells, mean group gel 10% jengkol fruit peel was 72.40 cells, mean group gel 5% jengkol fruit peel extract gel was 69.70 cells and the average CMC-Na gel group was60.53 cells. Conclusion: The conclusion is jengkol fruit peel extract gel 15% increased the number of fibroblast cells more than 10% and 5% extract gel applied topically on the skin of the wistar rats back.
