PERBANDINGAN EFEKTIVITAS JUS BUAH APEL ANNA KONSENTRASI 100% DAN AIR PERASAN JERUK NIPIS KONSENTRASI 2,5% SEBAGAI BAHAN BLEACHING ALAMI TERHADAP GIGI YANG MENGALAMI DISKOLORASI

ABSTRACT
Discoloration occur because of people's habits, one of which is coffee consumption. One of the treatments that can help whiten teeth is bleaching. Bleaching using chemicals can cause several side effects, so the alternative natural teeth whitening ingredients with safer ingredients are necessity, for example, Anna apple juice (Malus domestica) and lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Anna's apple juice with a concentration of 100% and lime juice with a concentration of 2,5% on discolored teeth. This study used a laboratory experimental method with a pretest-posttest group design. The number of samples used were 27 teeth which were divided into three treatment groups (100% concentration of Anna apple juice, 2,5% concentration of lime juice, and sterile aquadest). The results obtained in this study were that there was a decrease in the value of color intensity (dE*ab) in all treatment groups after soaking in Anna apple juice (Malus domestica) with a concentration of 100% and lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia) with a concentration of 2,5% for 3 hours. The conclusion in this study was that Anna apple juice (Malus domestica) with a concentration of 100% and lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia) with a concentration of 2.5% was effective in whitening teeth, especially lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia) with a concentration of 2,5%.

Diskolorasi dapat terjadi karena kebiasaan masyarakat salah satunya adalah konsumsi kopi. Salah satu perawatan yang dapat membantu memutihkan gigi adalah bleaching. Bleaching dengan menggunakan bahan kimia dapat menimbulkan beberapa efek samping, sehingga diperlukan bahan pemutih gigi alternatif yang alami dengan kandungan yang lebih aman contohnya seperti jus buah apel Anna (Malus domestica) dan air perasan jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari jus buah apel Anna konsentrasi 100% dan air perasan jeruk nipis konsentrasi 2,5% pada gigi yang mengalami diskolorasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratoris dengan rancangan penelitian pretest-posttest group design. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 27 gigi premolar yang dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok perlakuan (jus buah apel Anna konsentrasi 100%, air perasan jeruk nipis konsentrasi 2,5%, dan aquadest steril). Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini yakni terjadi penurunan nilai intensitas warna (dE*ab) pada seluruh kelompok perlakuan setelah direndam dalam jus buah apel Anna (Malus domestica) konsentrasi 100% dan air perasan jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia) konsentrasi 2,5% selama 3 jam. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah jus buah apel Anna (Malus domestica) konsentrasi 100% dan air perasan jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia) konsentrasi 2,5% efektif dalam memutihkan gigi terutama pada air perasan jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia) konsentrasi 2,5%.
