FASE PERTUMBUHAN GIGI M3 ATAS DAN BAWAH SUKU BALI MENGGUNAKAN METODE VAN HEERDEN MELALUI RADIOGRAFI PANORAMIK USIA 16-23 TAHUN DI RSGM SARASWATI DENPASAR

ABSTRACT
Dental development plays a very important role in the forensic identification process, especially in estimating the age of the victim, both dead and alive. This allows the use of various stages of the third molar development process to be used as an indicator of a person's age. The aim of this study was to determine the growth phase of the upper and lower third molars of the Balinese using the Van Heerden method through panoramic radiography aged 16-23 years at RSGM Saraswati Denpasar. The type of research used is descriptive observational research. The samples used in this study were 40 Balinese aged 16-23 years consisting of 21 males and 19 females at RSGM Saraswati Denpasar. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. Third molars obtained from panoramic radiographs were assessed according to their stage of development based on the Van Heerden Method. The data obtained from this study were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study of the mesial root development phase of the Balinese third molars with the Van Heerden method using panoramic radiography at the age of 16-23 years, that at the age of 16 years most entered stage I. For those aged 17 years most entered stage II. At the age of 18, most enter stage IV. Most of the 19 year olds are entering the age of IV. At the age of 20 years, the most entered stage V. Most aged 21 years entered stage V. The most aged 22 years entered stage V. Most aged 23 years entered stage V. The conclusion shows that the third molar growth phase of the Balinese people at the age of 16 years most entered stage I. At the age of 17 years most enter stage II. While the age of 18 and 19 years mostly entered stage IV. Age 20 to 23 years most entered stage V.

Perkembangan gigi memainkan peran yang sangat penting di proses identifikasi forensik terutama dalam mengestimasi usia korban baik pada yang mati maupun hidup. Hal ini memungkinkan penggunaan berbagai tahapan proses perkembangan gigi molar ketiga untuk digunakan sebagai indikator usia seseorang. Tujuan Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui fase pertumbuhan gigi molar ketiga atas dan bawah Suku Bali menggunakan Metode Van Heerden melalui radiografi panoramik usia 16-23 Tahun di RSGM Saraswati Denpasar. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan yaitu adalah penelitian observasional deskriptif. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 40 sampel Suku Bali berusia 16-23 tahun yang terdiri dari 21 laki-laki dan 19 perempuan di RSGM Saraswati Denpasar. Teknik Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Gigi molar ketiga yang didapat dari radiograf panoramik dinilai sesuai tahap perkembangannya berdasarkan Metode Van Heerden. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian fase perkembangan akar mesial gigi molar ketiga suku Bali dengan metode Van Heerden menggunakan radiografi panoramik pada usia 16-23 tahun, bahwa di usia 16 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage I. Untuk usia 17 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage II. Usia 18 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage IV. Usia 19 tahun terbanyak memasuki usia IV. Untuk usia 20 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage V. Usia 21 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage V. Usia 22 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage V. Usia 23 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage V. Kesimpulan menunjukan fase pertumbuhan gigi molar ketiga Suku Bali pada usia 16 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage I. Pada usia 17 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage II. Sedangkan usia 18 dan 19 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage IV. Usia 20 hingga 23 tahun terbanyak memasuki stage V.
