PENGARUH PEMBERIAN APLIKASI TOPIKAL GEL EKSTRAK DAUN KAYU MANIS (Cinnamomun burmannii) TERHADAP JUMLAH MAKROFAG PADA PROSES PENYEMBUHAN RADANG MUKOSA ORAL TIKUS PUTIH GALUR WISTAR (Rattus norvegicus)

Abstrak

Radang mukosa oral atau stomatitis lazim dijumpai dan diderita oleh 25% masyarakat terutama anak-anak. Obat herbal yang digunakan dalam proses penyembuhan adalah obat herbal yang memiliki sifat antiinflamasi. Daun kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmannii) memiliki sifat antiinflamasi, dikarenakan kandungan senyawa flavonoid, saponin, tannin, fenol, dan steroid, yang dapat membantu mekanisme makrofag pada proses penyembuhan radang mukosa oral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian topikal gel ekstrak daun kayu manis konsentrasi 35% terhadap jumlah makrofag radang mukosa oral. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini eksperimental Post-Test Only Control Group Design, digunakan 30 sampel tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus), yang terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol positif ( aloclair gel), kelompok kontrol negatif (tidak diberikan apa-apa) dan kelompok perlakuan (gel ekstrak daun kayu manis konsentrasi 35%). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji analisis deskriptif, uji normalitas menggunkan uji Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas menggunakan uji Levene’s test, dan uji perbedaan menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis dan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata nilai pada kelompok kontrol positif, kelompok kontrol negatif, dan kelompok perlakuan secara berurut sebesar 0,50, 1,30, dan 0,50. Pada uji Mann-Whitney kelompok kontrol negatif dan kelompok perlakuan menunjukkan hasil berbeda bermakna (ρ 0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat efek antiinflamasi pada gel ekstrak daun kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmannii) konsentrasi 35% terhadap penurunan jumlah makrofag pada proses penyembuhan radang mukosa oral tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus), tetapi tidak melebihi kontrol positif (aloclair gel).

Abstract

Inflammation of the oral mucosa or stomatitis is common and affects 25% of people, especially children. Herbal medicines used in the healing process are herbal medicines that have anti-inflammatory properties. Cinnamon leaves (Cinnamomum burmannii) have anti-inflammatory properties, due to the content of secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenols, and steroids, which can help the mechanism in the healing process of inflammation of the oral mucosa. This study aims to determine the effect of topical administration of cinnamon leaf extract gel with a concentration of 35% on the number of inflamed macrophages of the oral mucosa. The method used in this study was an experimental Post-Test Only Control Group Design, using 30 samples of male white rats of the Wistar strain (Rattus norvegicus), which were divided into 3 groups, namely the positive control group (aloclair gel), the negative control group (given nothing) and the treatment group (35% concentration of cinnamon leaf extract gel). The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis test, normality test using Shapiro-Wilk test, homogeneity test using Levene's test, and difference test using Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that the mean scores in the positive control group, negative control group, and treatment group were respectively 0.50, 1.30, and 0.50. In the Mann-Whitney test the negative control group and the treatment group showed significantly different results (ρ 0.05).
