GAMBARAN TIPE SMILE ARC PADA GAY YANG TINGGAL DI KOTA DENPASAR DAN KABUPATEN BADUNG

ABSTRACT
Ideal smile is important owned to support someone face aesthetic. One of the important component of smile is smile arc. Smile arc is parameter aesthetics which has researched by orthodontics as a " new esthetic paradigm " since 1990. Smile arc defined as connection among curvature edge incisal jaw anterior teeth on and formed curvature by lip lower the moment when you smile. The aims of this study is for knowing smile arc on gays in Denpasar City and Regency Badung based on photometry. This research is descriptive study with study observational method. The subjects of this study are 30 samples that have agreed being a research sample. The data analysis that used is analysis statistics descriptive. Research sample that has fulfill the criterias then determined the type of each smile arc which is consonant smile, straight smile, reverse smile and next determined by the percentage. Dominant smile arc owned by gays in the Denpasar City area and Regency Badung is straight smile with percentage of 56.67%, followed with consonant smile with percentage of 40.00% and reverse smile with percentage by 3.33%.

Senyum yang ideal penting dimiliki untuk menunjang estetika wajah seseorang. Salah satu komponen senyum yang penting adalah smile arc. Smile arc adalah parameter estetika yang telah diteliti oleh ortodontik sebagai “new esthetic paradigm” sejak tahun 1990. Smile arc didefinisikan sebagai hubungan antara kelengkungan tepi insisal gigi anterior rahang atas dan kelengkungan yang dibentuk oleh bibir bawah saat tersenyum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui smile arc pada gay di Kota Denpasar dan Kabupaten Badung berdasarkan fotometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode penelitian observasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 30 sampel yang telah bersedia menjadi sample penelitian. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis statistik deskriptif. Sampel penelitian yang telah memenuhi kriteria ditentukan tipe smile arc yang dimiliki yang dibedakan antara consonant smile, straight smile, reverse smile dan selanjutnya ditentukan persentasenya. Smile arc yang dominan dimiliki oleh gay yang berada di wilayah Kota Denpasar dan Kabupaten Badung adalah straight smile dengan persentase 56,67%, diikuti dengan consonant smile dengan persentase 40,00% dan reverse smile dengan persentase sebesar 3,33%.
