PERBEDAAN KEKUATAN TEKAN ANTARA RESIN KOMPOSIT BULKFILL DENGAN RESIN KOMPOSIT FIBER BULKFILL

Abstrak

Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia saat ini tergolong cukup tinggi salah satu penyakit gigi dan mulut yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah karies gigi. Gigi yang telah terkena karies butuh perhatian khusus untuk dirawat agar gigi tetap bertahan di dalam rongga mulut. Pertimbangan dalam pemilihan bahan tumpatan juga perlu diperhatikan agar memiliki kemampuan untuk menahan beban kunyah yang besar dan tidak mudah fraktur. Bahan restorasi yang baik dan dapat mengembalikan fungsi estetika merupakan kebutuhan masyarakat saat ini, salah satu bahan tersebut adalah resin komposit. Resin komposit ini dapat diapplikasikan secara langsung ke dalam kavitas dengan baik serta warnanya mampu menyerupai gigi asli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kekuatan tekan antara resin komposit bulkfill dengan resin komposit fiber bulkfill. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental laboratoris dengan post test only design. Penelitian ini melibatkan 2 resin komposit yaitu resin komposit bulkfill sebagai kelompok I dan resin komposit fiber bulkfill kelompok II. Sampel dengan bentuk tabung silindris memiliki ukuran diameter 4 mm dan tinggi 6 mm sebanyak 10 sampel tiap kelompok, kemudian sampel direndam aquades lalu diletakkan di inkubator dengan suhu 37⁰ selama 24 jam. Dilanjutkan dengan masing-masing sampel di uji kekuatan tekan menggunakan alat Universal Testing Machine hingga hancur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kekuatan tekan Kelompok I sebesar 223,28 Mpa dan kelompok II sebesar 403,9 Mpa. Analisis data menggunakan uji parametrik independent t-test dengan p = 0,00 dimana p < 0,05 yang berarti perbedaan kekuatan tekan yang didapat signifikan antara resin komposit bulkfill dan fiber bulkfill. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah kekuatan tekan resin komposit fiber bulkfill lebih besar dari resin komposit bulkfill.

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems in Indonesia are currently quite high, one of the most common dental and oral diseases is dental caries. Teeth that have been affected by caries need special attention to be treated so that the teeth remain in the oral cavity. Consideration in the selection of filling material also needs to be considered so that it has the ability to withstand large chewing loads and is not easy to fracture. Restoration materials that are good and can restore aesthetic function are the needs of today's society, one of these materials is composite resin. This composite resin can be applied directly into the cavity properly and the color can resemble natural teeth. This study aims to determine the difference in compressive strength between bulkfill composite resin and fiber bulkfill composite resin. The research design used was a laboratory experimental design with a post test only design. This study involved 2 composite resins, namely bulkfill composite resin as group I and fiber bulkfill composite resin as group II. Samples with a cylindrical tube shape had a diameter of 4 mm and a height of 6 mm as many as 10 samples per group, then the samples were soaked in distilled water and then placed in an incubator with a temperature of 37⁰ for 24 hours. Then each sample was tested for compressive strength using a Universal Testing Machine until it crumbled. The results showed that the compressive strength of Group I was 223.28 MPa and that of Group II was 403.9 MPa. Data analysis used a parametric independent t-test with p = 0.00 where p < 0,05 which means that the difference in compressive strength was significant between bulkfill composite resin and fiber bulkfill. The conclusion of this study is that the compressive strength of fiber bulkfill composite resin is greater than that of bulkfill composite resin
