HUBUNGAN TINGGI BIBIR ATAS TERHADAP KURVATURA BIBIR ATAS PADA MAHASISWA FKG UNMAS

ABSTRACT
Aesthetics or beauty is important for modern society. Facial aesthetic factors can be said to be one of the main motivations for the community or patients to get orthodontic treatment. The patient's smile is very important in orthodontic treatment because it is a facial expression where a person can express his feelings, and is very valuable for someone in his social life. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a significant relationship between upper lip height and upper lip curvature in FKG UNMAS Denpasar students. This research is a descriptive study with analytically processed research data, the research design is cross sectional using a sample of 115 FKG UNMAS student subjects in Denpasar. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The subject was photographed in a social smile pose and the photos were edited using a computer program to see the shape of the upper lip curvature. The results showed that the average height of the upper lip for males was 1.4358 cm and for females was 1.2550 cm. While the shape of the upper lip curvature in men is (41.95%) in the upper direction, (16.3%) straight and (41.9%) in the lower direction. The shape of the curvature in women is (56.9%) up, (22.2%) straight and (20.8%) down. In the Chi-square test there is no significant difference in the type of upper lip curvature between men and women. And the results of the Spearman Correlation test showed that there was no statistically significant relationship between the height of the upper lip and the type of curvature of the upper lip.

Estetika atau kecantikan merupakan hal yang penting bagi masyarakat modern saat ini. Faktor estetika wajah dapat dikatakan sebagai salah satu motivasi utama pada masyarakat atau pasien untuk mendapatkan perawatan ortodonsia. Senyum pasien sangat penting dalam perawatan ortodonti karena merupakan ekspresi wajah dimana seseorang dapat mengungkapkan perasaannya, serta sangat berharga bagi seseorang dalam kehidupan sosialnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan yang signifikan antara tinggi bibir atas dengan kurvatura bibir atas pada mahasiswa FKG UNMAS Denpasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan data penelitian yang diolah secara analitik, desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional dengan menggunakan sampel sebanyak 115 subjek mahasiswa FKG UNMAS Denpasar. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Subjek difoto dalam pose senyum sosial dan hasil foto disunting dengan menggunakan program komputer untuk melihat bentuk kurvatura bibir atas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata tinggi bibir atas pada laki-laki sebesar 1,4358 cm dan pada perempuan sebesar 1,2550 cm. Sedangkan bentuk kurvatura bibir ata pada laki-laki adalah (41.95%) arah atas, (16.3%) lurus dan (41.9%) arah bawah. Bentuk kurvatura pada perempuan adalah (56.9%) arah atas, (22.2%) lurus dan (20.8%) arah bawah. Dalam uji Chi-square tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan tipe kurvatura bibir atas antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Dan hasil uji Korelasi Spearman menunjukan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan secara statistik antara tinggi bibir atas dengan tipe kurvatura bibir atas.
