Abstract

Abstract
It has been a long time since drinking coffee has become a habit for Indonesians, both at home and in public spaces such as in coffee shops by displaying the characteristics of the traditional culture of the local area. The increasing consumption of coffee and changes in people's lifestyles have led to the development of the coffee shop industry in Indonesia. This can be seen from the increasing number of coffee shops, both on a small scale (depot) and large scale (cafe) in Denpasar. Intense competition can change behavior towards unfair competition which can harm consumers. In the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection in article 29 paragraph 1, it is stated that, the Government is responsible for fostering the implementation of consumer protection which guarantees the acquisition of the rights of consumers and business actors as well as the implementation of obligations of consumers and business actors.

Abstrak
Sudah sejak lama minum kopi telah menjadi kebiasaan bagi orang Indonesia, baik di rumah maupun di ruang publik seperti di kedai-kedai kopi dengan menampilkan ciri khas kultur tradisional daerah setempat. Meningkatnya konsumsi kopi dan perubahan gaya hidup masyarakat menyebabkan mulai berkembangnya industri coffee shop di Indonesia. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari jumlah coffee shop yang terus bertambah, baik dalam skala kecil (depot), maupun skala besar (cafe) di Denpasar. Ketatnya persaingan dapat mengubah perilaku kearah persaingan yang tidak sehat yang dapat merugikan konsumen. Dalam Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen pada pasal 29 ayat 1 menyatakan bahwa, Pemerintah bertanggung jawab atas pembinaan penyelenggaraan perlindungan konsumen yang menjamin diperolehnya hak konsumen dan pelaku usaha serta dilaksanakannya kewajiban konsumen dan pelaku usaha.
