Abstract
This research aims at finding out the correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. This research is correlational research. The sample was selected by using random sampling technique consists of 30 students. Furthermore, to collect the data, the researcher used two kinds of test: fill in the blank for the vocabulary mastery test and short answer test for the reading comprehension. Moreover, the data collected was analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 program. PairedSamples t-test result is significance 2-tailed value from students’ vocabulary mastery and students’ reading comprehension was 010. The result showed that ttesting significance score is had relatively equal variances because the significance is higher than 0.05. The result of calculating correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension ability in reading comprehension of descriptive text was r = 813. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between Vocabulary mastery and Reading Comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP TP. 45 Denpasar in academic year 2021/2022.
