Abstract
The thesis focuses on the types of figurative language found in Ratatouille movie by Walt Disney Pictures and also identify and analyze the meaning of each types of figurative language found in the Ratatouille movie. The study used theory proposed by Keraf (2006) for analyzing the types of figurative language and theory of meaning from Leech (1981). In the research method, the study used qualitative method to analyze the types of figurative language contained in Ratatouille movie. From 23 data taken in the movie, they are 6 types of figurative language found, those are Personification 3 data (13.04%), Metaphor 6 data (26,08%), Simile 4 data (17,39%), Hyperbole 8 data (34,78%), Irony 1 data (4,34%), and Metonymy 1 data (4,34%). The meaning in each figurative language had different meaning based on the data that found in Ratatouille movie and the most dominant meaning is Connotative meaning 20 data (86,95%), Affective meaning 2 data (8,69%), and Social meaning 1 data (4,34%).
