THE BORRELATION BETWEEN VOBABULARY MASTERY AND READING BOMPREHENSION OF THE EIGHTH-GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 1 BLAHBATUH IN ABADEMIB YEAR 2021/2022

This study was conducted using an ex-post facto design which aims to investigate the correlation between vocabulary and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Blahbatuh in academic year 2021/2022. In conducted the research, two research instruments (matching closed procedure test and short answer test) were used for 45 Class VIII students at SMPN 1 Blahabtuh in academic year 2021/2022, as a sample selected by cluster sampling. After the required data is collected, it is then analyzed statistically using prerequisite analysis (normality and homogeneity test) and hypothesis testing (Pearson product-moment correlation and t-test). The results of data analysis clearly show that the study states that there is a significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Blahbatuh in academic year 2021/2022.
