Abstract

The present study aimed at figuring out whether the writing skills of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 3 Ubud can be improved through the implementation of Tell-Show Combined with Picture. It is a strategy that used Tchart, and it is supported by pictures as media. The research was mainly based on the preliminary study of 29 subjects, the seventh-grade students of SMPN 3 Ubud in the academic year 2023/2024. The research design was classroom action research, and the research was carried out through implementing Tell-Show Combined with Picture in two cycles. In addition, the data were gathered by administering a pre-test, post-test 1, post-test 2, and a questionnaire. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in the subjects’ writing skill especially in writing a descriptive paragraph. The results of the questionnaire proved that the subjects agreed with the implementation of the Tell-Show Combined with Picture during the teaching and learning process. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that writing skill of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 3 Ubud in the academic year 2023/2024 can be improved through implementing Tell-Show Combined with Picture.
