The Implementation of Inside Outside Circle to Improve the Speaking Skills of the Seventh-Grade Students of SMP Pelangi Dharma Nusantara in the academic year 2023/2024

This study was intended to find out whether speaking skill can be improved through inside outside circle. The subjects of the presents study were the VIIC students of SMP Pelangi Dharma Nusantara in academic year 2023/2024; they consisted of 15 males and 9 females who were selected based on the preliminary observation, based on the result of the pre-test which carried out in the pre-cycle, it showed that the subjects had low skill in speaking. The present classroom action research was then carried out. It was carried out by implementing inside outside circle in two successive cycle. The result of post-test in each cycle showed that there was significant progressing achievement of the subject’s speaking skill. Questionnaire was also administered at the end of the last cycle in order to get supporting data. The result of questionnaire showed that most of subjects gave positive responses about the implementation of inside outside circle technique in improving speaking skill. In conclusion, the present classroom action study proved that speaking skill of the seventh-grade students of SMP Pelangi Dharma Nusantara in academic year 2023/2024 could be improved through inside outside circle; in addition, the subjects also responded the implementation of inside outside circle technique positively.
