The Use of Roundtable Technique to Improve Writing Skill of the Seventh-Grade Students of SMPN 4 Sukawati in the Academic Year 2023/2024

Writing skill is considered an important skill in English that should be mastered by students in all grades especially junior high school. However, it was found that most of the subjects' writing skills were still low. As the present classroom action research was intended to figure out whether or not the writing skill of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 4 Sukawati in academic year 2023/2024 can be improved after being taught through the roundtable technique, the present study was then carried out by implementing the technique in two cycles. The result of the post-test in each cycle obviously showed in pre-cycle (51.93) up to cycle I (71.23) then, it improved in cycle II (81.5), that there was significant improvement concerning the subjects' writing skills. This research furthermore showed that the technique improved the subjects' writing ability in writing. In conclusion, the present classroom action research proved that the use of roundtable technique to improve writing skill of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 4 Sukawati in the Academic Year 2023/2024.
