Improving Speaking Skill of The Eight-Grade Students of Smpn 3 Abiansemal In The Academic Year 2023/2024 Through Roundrobin

Speaking is conveying messages, feelings, ideas and thoughts about a certain matter which requires skills in expressing them orally so that the meaning of the conversation can be conveyed well from the speaker to the listener. Therefore, this study primarily intended to answer the following questions: how effective is RoundRobin in improving students' speaking skills? and how do students respond to the application of RoundRobin in improving students' speaking skills? The subjects of this research were class VIII students at SMPN 3 Abiansemal for the 2023/2024 academic year. The design of this research is classroom action research carried out in two cycles. The data was then analyzed by comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test which showed a significant increase in the subject's average score from pre-test to post-test. As supporting data, a questionnaire was also given at the end of the last cycle and the results showed a positive response to the implementation of RoundRobin. Based on the results of the research instrument, it can be concluded that the speaking skills of eighth grade students at SMPN 3 Abiansemal in the 2023/2024 academic year can be improved through the RoundRobin technique.
