Abstract

This study concerned about derivational suffixes found in 2023 Nissan 400Z blog by CARBUZZ. The study aims to find out the types and analyzing the process of derivational suffixes that was found in the data source. Descriptive qualitative method were used to analyze the data. The theory from Fromkin (1991) were used to identify the types of derivational suffixes, and analyzing the process of derivational suffixes using tree diagram with the theory proposed by Lieber (2009). The data that were found in this research were169 data which consist of various types of derivational suffixes. The most dominant in type of derivational suffixes found is verb to noun, such as -al, - ance, -ation, -ence, -er, -ist. –ion, -dom, and –ing with 84 data or 42.21% and followed by noun to adjective , such as suffix -ish, -oush, -an, -esque, -ate, -full, -ic, and –ed with 55 or 27.64%, adjective to adverb such as suffix -ly with 38 data or 19.09%, and verb to adjective such as suffix -able, -ive, -ory, -(n)y with 19 or 9.06%. And the least were derivational suffixes from adjective to noun, such as suffix -ness, -ity, -ism, -dom with 3 or 1.50%. There are one type was not found in this research, that was derivational suffix noun to verb.
