Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide a statistical analysis of directive act types in the context of the film "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children." The investigation focuses on four forms of directive acts: command, request, prohibition, and question. Their distribution, percentages, and volumes are shown by the data. The Request and Prohibition Act types account for 20% of the occurrences (number of 3) in the examined data, whereas the Command Act type each account for 13% of the occurrences (quantity of 2). The Question Act type is the most common, accounting for 46% of all occurrences (quantity of 7). The statistical data gives insight into the prevalence of various directive act types in the dataset. Furthermore, the study analyses the context situation in terms of field, tenor, and mode, identifying and explaining 10 intended meanings linked with the directive actions. The statistical analysis emphasizes the distribution and quantities of directive act types, shedding light on their prevalence within the dataset, whereas the context situation analysis enriches our understanding of the intended meanings conveyed by the directive acts in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Finally, doing a pleasant factor in such research can also increase interest and involvement. By addressing these ideas, the progress in the study of directed speech actions in films could be evolved
