Abstract

This research analyses the hyperbole expression in Selected Viral Song Lyrics on TikTok. This research aims to discover the form and meaning of hyperbole expression in Selected Viral Song Lyrics on TikTok. The observation method is used in this study, and to get sufficient and complete data, several steps are needed, such as; downloading song lyrics from the internet and listening to the song to understand the meaning conveyed, then making notes and classifying based on the types of hyperbole. This study analyses the data descriptively using qualitative methods based on the theory proposed by Claridge (2011) to find out the forms of hyperbole and the theory of meaning proposed by Leech (1981) to find the meaning of hyperbole expressions found in Selected Viral Song Lyrics on TikTok.
