THE USE OF ROUNDTABLE TECHNIQUE TO IMPROVE WRITING SKILL OF THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF MA RUHUL AMIN LAMONGAN IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023

The purpose of this research is that this research has a direction, finding solutions to research problems is the main goal of this research. The subjects were 50 students of class X MA Ruhul Amin Lamongan. This study used a classroom action research design which was carried out in two cycles where each cycle consisted of two sessions. In this study the instruments used by researchers were pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test. The results of the pre-test on initial reflection, especially in writing descriptive paragraphs, show that students' ability to write is still low. They still have problems with vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and explanation of an object. The researcher got this fact based on his observations in class. To overcome this problem, researchers tried to use the Roundtable technique which was carried out in two cycles. Based on the data after being given the pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2, they were 68.04, 79.36, and 83.48, respectively. The results of the students' post-test in each cycle clearly showed that there was an improvement in writing when they made descriptive paragraphs. In addition, this study showed a positive response to the application of the roundtable technique in improving the subject's writing ability. The conclusion of this study proves that the writing skills of class X students of MA Ruhul Amin Lamongan in the 2022/2023 Academic Year can be improved through the Roundtable technique.
