Abstract

Writing is one of the most important basic skills to master when learning English. There were 31 subjects which consisted of 16 males and 15 females. The subjects were the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Manggis, especially X H class. The objective of the present of the study was to find out whether or not Think Pair Share can improve the writing skills of the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Manggis in the academic year 2022/2023. Therefore, to achieve the objective of the present study the researcher used the type of classroom action research and divided it into two cycles. The research activities consisted of pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. In conducting the research, the researcher needs various kinds of information in order to collect the data. The data that were required in the present study were collected using the pre-test and post-test. The result of the pre-test and post-test in each cycle clearly showed that there were significant improvements of the subjects‘ writing skill. It showed that the subjects gave positive responses on the implementation of Think Pair Share with picture. To sum up, the present classroom action research proved that writing skill of tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Manggis in academic year 2022/2023 could be improved through Think Pair Share with picture through classroom action research
