IMPROVING SPEAKING ABILITY OF THE EIGHTHGRADE STUDENTS OF SMP (SLUB) SARASWATI 1 DENPASAR IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 THROUGH THINK PAIR SHARE COMBINED WITH FLIPGRID

Speaking is a crucial language skill to be mastered in this era. In fact, most of the students in junior high school faced problem in speaking ability. The objective of this study was to finding out whether or not speaking ability of the eighth-grade student of SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar can be improved through Think Pair Share combined with Flipgrid. Classroom Action Research was used as the research methods. Pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire were administered to get the objective. The result of the pre-test clearly showed that the subject under study were low 63.36. Then, the researcher implemented Think Pair Share combined with Flipgrid to improve the ability of the student under study. The post-test was admnistered by the end of each cycles. The result of the posttest I and II were 79.9 and 79.24. Moreover, the questionnaire result showed that the students were actively angaged and motivated after the implementation of Think Pair Share combined with Flipgrid. To sum up, the present classroom action research proved that speaking ability of the eighth grade students of SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar in academic year 2022/2023 could be improved through Think Pair Share combined with Flipgrid. In Addition, the subjects also responded positively.
