Abstract

The objective of the study is designed to figure out whether or not writing skill of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar in academic year 2022/2023 can be improved through simultaneous roundtable combined with picture-stimulated writing. The present study was based on the following related literatures: Writing Skill, Descriptive Paragraph, Simultaneous Roundtable Combined with Picture Stimulated Writing, and Assessing Writing. Furthermore, the general description will be elaborated briefly below. There for to achieve the objective of the present study the researcher activities consisted of pre-test, post-test and questionnaire. the result of the research, the mean score of the pre-cycle was 59.88. there was an improvement of the mean score to 74.85 in cycle I and it improved gain to 87.54 in the last cycle II The signification different figured that cycle II was more effective than cycle I. Moreover, to collect the additional supporting data, the researcher administered the questionnaire at the end cycle II. It showed that the students’ motivation and attitude changed positively after the implementation of Simultaneous Roundtable with picture. To sum up, the present classroom action research proved that writing ability of the eighth-grade students of SMP N 6 Denpasar in academic year 2022/2023 could be improved through Simultaneous Roundtable with picture through a classroom action research. In addition, the subjects also responded positively.
