IMPROVING WRITING ABILITY OF THE EIGHTH - GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI 2 DENPASAR IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 THROUGH SIMULTANEOUS ROUNDTABLE TECHNIQUE WITH PICTURE

This study attempts to investigate whether the writing ability of eighth- grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Denpasar in the academic year 2022/2023 can be improved through the simultaneous roundtable technique with picture. The subjects consisted of 42 students; 21 male and 21 females. The design of this research is classroom action research. It is carried out in two cycles and each cycle consists of two sessions. The research findings reveal that students' achievement in writing descriptive paragraphs has increased after the Simultaneous Roundtable technique with picture is applied in the teaching and learning process. The data shows that there is a significant increase in the average score of the subjects from the pre-test and post-test. The average value of the pre-test was 57.48, the post-test I was 73.64, and the post-test II was 81.14. As supporting data, a questionnaire was also given at the end of the last cycle and the results showed that 85% of the subjects agreed positively responses with the Implementation of the simultaneous roundtable technique with picture in improving writing ability. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the writing ability of the eighth – grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Denpasar in the academic year 2022/ 2023 can be improved through the Simultaneous Roundtable Technique with picture.
