Abstract

The present study was intended to find out the significant correlation between students’ motivation and speaking ability of the tenth grade students of SMK PGRI 3 Badung in academic year 2021/2022. This study made use of an expost facto research with correlation design. The sample was 40 students. In collecting the data of this research, instruments that were used in this study were performance test and questionnaire of motivation. It got score 3230 for speaking ability and 3330 for motivation. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 25 that consist of Normality test, Homogeneity test, Pearson Product Moment and Ttesting. The result showed a significant correlation between students’ motivation and speaking ability. It can be stated that positive and significant correlation between students’ motivation and speaking ability of the tenth grade students of SMK PGRI 3 Badung in academic year 2021/2022.
