Abstract
Writing is one of basic things in English that we need to learn. When it comes to writing, things like spelling, grammar, and appropriate word class are the center of the skills. The objective study was to find out whether the writing skill of the tenth grade students of SMK Wira Harapan in academic year 2022/2023 could be improved through Herringbone Technique. Firstly, the researcher conducted initial reflection by giving the subjects a pre-test. The mean score of the subjects’ pre-test was 31.07 which showed that none subjects could pass the minimum passing grade. In cycle I, the subjects had significant improvement. It showed by increasing the subjects’ mean score of 66.93 with 5 subjects who could pass the minimum passing grade. Furthermore, in cycle II, the mean score was 81.39,which showed that 12 subjects could pass the minimum passing grade. Based on the data above, the tenth-grade students of SMK Wira Harapan's writing skills improved. In addition, based on the pre-determined success indicator, this research could be considered successful and ended in the last cycle or cycle II.2
