Abstract

This research discussed The Correlation between Grammar Mastery and Writing Achievement of the ninth-grade students of SMP Sila Dharma Denpasar in Academic year 2021/2022. The research aimed to find out The Correlation Between Grammar Mastery and Writing Achievement in writing recount text. The sample was selected by using random sampling technique consisting of 40 students. Furthermore, to collect the data, the researcher used two kinds of test: fill in the blanks and recount text. Moreover, the data collected was analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 program. Paired-Samples t-test result is significance 2-tailed value from students’ grammar mastery and students’ writing achievement was 004 The result showed that t-testing significance score is had relatively equal variances because the significance is higher than 0.05. The result of calculating correlation between students’ grammar mastery and their achievement in writing recount text was r = 615. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between grammar mastery and writing achievement of the ninth-grade students of SMP Sila Dharma in academic year 2021/2022.
