CONJUNCTIONS ANALYSIS FOUND IN “EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE” MOVIE

The title of this thesis is Conjunction Analysis Found in “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” movie. The story of the movie is about the serial killer Ted Bundy who have killed and raped woman brutaly. There are two objectives of ths study the first one is to analyze the types of conjunction that used in the movie. The second is to analyze the function of the conjunction used in the movie. The data of this study were taken from the movie entitled “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”. The collected data were analyzed descriptively based on Halliday and Hasan (1976) theory. The Result of this study revealed four types of conjunction Additive, Adversative, Causal and Temporal. after, the research has been done, the writer found that all the type of conjunction occurred in the “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile” movie. There are four types of conjunction found from the script with the total 281 data, and the most types of conjunction used in the script is additive relations with the total is 155 data (55,1%) which the most conjunction used in the word and with 133 data (48,9%) in simple additive relations. It was followed by adversative relations with the total is 77 data (27,4%) which the most conjunction word is but with 55 data (19,5%) in contrastive relations. After that, causal relations used 44 data (15,7%) with the most word is because with 23 data (8,1%) in reserved causal relations. And the last is from temporal relations used 5 data (1,0%) with the most word is and then with 3 data (0,4%). The word and mostly used in script of “Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile” movie is narrative text. Narative taxt is text that contains a lot of idea of information, so the word and are mostly used in narative text to connecting the existing idea or information.
